Artist Statement: Prayer Warrior is a graphite drawing from a model. Barbara posed while she meditated.

bio:Jauneth Skinner is a graphic artist who creates mixed media drawings and intaglio and relief prints.

Skinner’s artworks have been exhibited in many galleries, including The National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, D.C.); United Nations’ Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing, China); Studio la città (Verona), Palazzo Rinaldi (Noèpoli) Italy; Firestation Print Studio (Armadale, Australia); and Lessedra Gallery (Sofia, Bulgaria).

Her work is in many collections, including the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford (Oxford, U.K.); Harris College Collection (Cardiff, Wales); Kennaraháskóli Íslands University Print Collection, Stakkahlíö (Reykjavík, Iceland); Rossi Library Archives (Rome), Scuola Internazionale di Grafica (Venice), Palazzo Rinaldi (Noépoli), Santa Reparata stamperia d’arte grafica (Florence), Italy; Firestation Print Studio (Armadale, Australia); Hampton Editions (Sag Harbor, NY); and the Minnesota Historical Society (St. Paul, MN).

Skinner earned the MFA from Bowling Green State University, and BFA and AS from Indiana University. She is a Professor of Graphic Arts at JSU and an Associate Member of the Kappa Pi International Art Honor Society.
