A New Warmth

by Austin Schneider
(Hydrostone sculpture, 2005, 14" tall)
Christ Episcopal Church - Plano, TX
dallasmarg@yahoo.co.uk

I was influenced to sculpt this piece after seeing an elongated bronze statue while visiting a foundry with my grandfather. The sculpture started as a reflection of what I was feeling at the time. As I worked on the sculpture, the position of the head move up as I saw growth and change in myself. After completing the sculpture, I decided to name it A New Warmth. This name reflects my spiritual growth and the peace that I found in completing the sculpture.

This sculpture is submitted for consideration because I believe my personal growth experience reflects some of The General Convention's theme of Come and Grow and the sub-theme of Gracious Spirit.
