The Power of the Spirit

The formal arching structure of the design worked in hand-dyed felt, is superimposed on a base of dark red silk embellished with layers of sheer fabrics and machine stitching in both rayon and metallic threads

This design (site specific) seeks to express the power of the spirit which knows no bounds yet its intangible presence is key to all things new and all things possible. It sweeps in from the left of the panel, momentarily embracing the structure which it encounters. It cannot, however, be imprisoned and bursts out towards unknown destinations beyond the right hand limits of the frontal, following a dynamic movement implied in the form and colour.
