This carved, wooden, cruciform "Descending Dove" mixes the traditional (medieval paint and gilding icon techniques) with the unexpected (contemporary design elements, glass marbles, wooden skewers, etc.). I hope that the end result, while still somewhat traditional-looking, expresses something venerable – but also surprising – about the Holy Spirit.
