Melissa J. Strickler

Wings of the Morning represents the protective and watchful eye of the Lord. He is with us always . . . while we rest in the darkness of the night, just as he is with us at the first light of each new day. The Holy Spirit on occasion blesses me with images to paint. The challenge then comes in making them worthy to glorify Him.

Melissa, originally from Colorado, has had a passion for art since childhood. She has taken a variety of instructional classes in the arts at the different locations she’s lived over the years Riverton Wyoming, Casper Wyoming, Corpus Christi Texas, Dubai U.A.E., and currently is enrolled at the Glassell School of Art in Houston Texas. She is taking private lessons in the art of Byzantine Icons, a new-found love. Melissa taught art at St. Margaret’s Catholic School in Riverton Wyoming. She also owned and operated a photography studio with emphasis on black and white portraits while living in the U.A.E. She has participated in other juried shows in San Antonio Texas, Dubai U.A.E., Fujairah U.A.E. and Clearlake Texas. She lives in Katy Texas with her husband, Bob. They are blessed with two grown children.
