Altar

Frank Logue

8" x 10"
gelatin silver print, black and white infrared film
2000

Altar does not just have light as a theme, but it is a place where light once again shines in the aftermath of deep darkness. It is a picture of hope in place which has experienced evil. Darkness only seemed to overtake the light, but the light continues to shine. Altar was taken in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem at an altar between Golgotha and the grave.
