Prior to Sept. 11th I had been working on an abstract series called
"Mythic Branches", about iconic shapes in nature, and when
I finally was able to return to the studio I found it hard to get back
to work. One day, out my apartment window the sun illuminated two small
branches which somehow communicated to me both struggle and hope, and
these I incorporated in a painting named for Sept. 11th. And I was off
again on the series.
