"Mary Said Yes"

The incarnation is the first act of reconciliation for Christians.  God's proposal makes possible reconciliation, but Mary's "yes" is required.  In iconography the color blue is used to symbolize humanity, and is also known as Mary's color. Red, in iconography, denotes divinity. In this image Mary is enfolded in red and embraced by divinity. Her posture, and gaze reflect Mary's humility; her smile reveals her wisdom, courage and willingness.

35mm slide converted to polaroid transfer. It was then scanned, adjusted in photoshop, and printed on an inkjet printer on photo canvass painted with gold leaf.
