Marilyn Witt

Summer's End

Artist Statement: Late one summer evening I walked out to my garden. As I walked by these sunflowers bowing their heads with the evening sunlight behind them, I immediately knew I had to paint their glory. I felt they were saying a prayer to God thanking Him for the beautiful summer, for the ability to provide food for the birds and were ready for a rest before God restores them to their beauty in the spring.
